A household AI that learns the thoughts, preferences, behaviors, and minds of their host family. By providing diverse lifestyle support, they seek to ensure that all family members can live a comfortable, fulfilling, and desirable life. They make suggestions that encourage new encounters, new discoveries, and new learnings, and enable the home to undergo adaptive evolution and increase its value with time.

Adjustension Home is capable of freely transforming and expanding in line with its occupants’ lifestyles and usage scenarios; occupants can choose how to live and expand their world. The Home also serves as a point of access to the metaverse; using advanced technologies that re-create multisensory experiences, occupants can share activities and experiences in a way that transcends physical restrictions of the human body.

1) Changeable floor plans
  • Adjustension Home’s walls are made of textiles that harden with the application of electricity, enabling the floor plan of the home to be changed and redesigned at will.
  • The outer wall sashes are moveable, meaning the boundaries of “indoors” and “outdoors” can be changed to fit different scenarios.
  • Some of the living space is also capable of shrinking or expanding to suit changing lifestyles or usage cases; consequently, the space can be handed over to other occupants, and shared spaces can be rented out.
2) Optimized interior environments
  • Adjustension Home’s outer walls and windows can alter the amount of sunlight and wind that pass through; the inner walls, ceilings, and floors ensure optimal levels of humidity, air quality, and other interior elements.
  • The walls can transform into screens, turning the living space into a 360-degree theater; memories and dream destinations can be accurately re-created, including smells and other non-visible aspects of the environment
3) Transcending physical limitations
  • Windows and doors become gateways to physically remote locations or to the metaverse, enabling occupants to access all manner of locations instantly.
  • In the metaverse, the occupants’ home is re-created as a digital twin; decorations and other aspects of the home can be freely altered, and some of these changes can be reflected in the real-world Adjustension Home.

Circular Apartment Living with Nature

A condominium that recycles resources and coexists with nature

Circular Apartment Living with Nature is a condominium of the future that recycles resources and energy to minimize its environmental load, and actively improves its surroundings. It encourages residents to live closer to nature and reap the many associated benefits—and so enable residents and nature to coexist. The condominium also helps protect the natural environment, safeguarding a future in which humans can continue to live comfortable lives.

Specifications

One spherical unit is approximately four stories tall and is home to 20–50 families; 10–20 units form a single condominium complex.

Features
1) Energy self-sufficiency
  • Circular Apartment Living with Nature generates electricity from natural forms of energy such as solar, wind, hydro, and tidal, as well as from the kinetic energy of its residents; it then stores this energy to ensure a stable and efficient supply of electricity.
  • Food can be grown both outside and inside using soilless culture, hydroponics, and next-generation aquaculture technologies.
  • The condominium utilizes shared spaces and merits of scale to recycle resources with great efficiency.
  • It is equipped with an AI capable of learning to further improve efficiency.
2) Next-generation “3Rs”
  • Circular Apartment Living with Nature is fitted with a high-performance water circulation system that effectively utilizes river water, seawater, and rainwater, and reuses and releases waste water.
  • Household waste is automatically separated and subject to bacterial decomposition; any recyclable resources are recovered or returned to nature; residue is used as fertilizer and other materials.
  • A small incinerator is built next to the condominium to minimize the amount of waste that has to be transported; heat from the incinerator is used to heat water and generate electricity.
  • Residents with unwanted goods and excess food are matched with those who want them, so reducing general waste and waste food in particular.
3) Sharing
  • Residents share mobility, avatars, robots, and other items that are only used intermittently; automatic repairs ensure greater longevity.
  • The condominium’s recycling systems, forms of mobility, and excess energy are shared with the local community; this improves community convenience and benefits the natural environment.
4) High-level repair functions
  • AI monitors the condominium and automatically manages repair schedules; repair work is carried out automatically by robots.
  • All building materials are chosen for their durability, longevity, and ability to self-repair using bacteria and other methods; this minimizes the need for repairs and reconstruction work.
5) An abundant lifestyle full of nature
  • Wood is used for building materials as much as possible; the use of greenery and water inside the building ensures residents are exposed to nature on a daily basis.
  • Daylighting systems ensure that sunlight can be used to illuminate lower floors
    and can even be stored; windows and walls automatically ensure optimal levels of wind and heat permeate the building.
