As part of its 140th anniversary project, our university created an android modeled on its alumnus Natsume Soseki, under the supervision of Professor ISHIGURO Hiroshi; the android has now been in operation for eight years. Together with various researchers, we have discussed a society in which humans coexist with androids and AI, and we have also debated the idea of what it means to be human.
